   DESCRIPTION OF ACCIDENT:    The aircraft struck an elk on landing at the Las Vegas, New Mexico airport. 

 

 

 

          DESCRIPTION OF DAMAGES:   The damage includes but may not be limited to: 

 

·         Left wing and control surfaces

·         Left main landing gear was severed from the airframe

·         Left-wing engine cowling

·         Left engine propeller blades

·         Left engine sustained a prop strike

·         Horizontal stabilizer

·         Fuselage

·         Preexisting hail damage to all upper surfaces.
