DESCRIPTION OF ACCIDENT: On July 24, 2024, aircraft was struck by lightning while tied down at KFHB. The aircraft was operated and relocated to KTMA in Tifton, GA.
DESCRIPTION OF DAMAGES: Aircraft was struck by lightning. Pilot experienced issues with the oil pressure gauge, tachometer, and autopilot. There may be additional damage, but the places where it is visible that lightning exited the aircraft are as follows:
1. 3 holes on the left side of fuselage over wing and below the door 2. 1 hole on top of the left wing half way down 3. Around left fuel cap is chipped 4. Left wheel strut damage almost all the way around it. 5. 4 bigger holes directly under the fuselage 6. Crack in fuselage under CAPS 7. Large hole on the right side of the CAPS 8. Hole right side next to baggage compartment, below top window 9. Hole above right wing/below right door 10. 3 holes on top of fuselage next to antennas 11. Right wheel strut damaged 12. Right fuel tank seems to have a leak
