DESCRIPTION OF ACCIDENT: On 12/18/19, a suspect attempted to steal the aircraft, but started only the aircraft’s left engine. After the left engine started, the suspect lost control of the aircraft at which time the aircraft began an abrupt right turn around its right main landing gear. As the aircraft made its turn, the left wing and propeller impacted a fire hydrant then chain link fence at which time the aircraft came to a stop.
DESCRIPTION OF DAMAGES: The damage includes, but may not be limited to:
- Left propeller (destroyed) - Left engine (prop strike; power section of engine entirely torn off; compressor section has obvious severe fractures;
engine likely destroyed or at least
not economically feasible to repair)
in buckling/wrinkling of the
skins and the stringers around the circumference of the empennage)
