DESCRIPTION OF ACCIDENT: On 12/4/2019, the pilot was landing the aircraft at the airport at or near Columbia, SC. Upon touchdown to land, the pilot inadvertently touched down with the aircraft’s landing gear retracted. As a result, the aircraft experienced a gear up landing.
DESCRIPTION OF DAMAGES: The damage includes, but may not be limited to:
- Prop strike (both left and right sides) - Both left & right wings (inboard trailing edges torn due to wrecker strap; wing root fairings crushed) - Both left & right flaps (scraped; inboard side of flaps torn due to wrecker strap) - Nose gear doors (destroyed) - Fuselage (belly skins scraped; forward belly and side skins forward of both wing roots crushed and buckled due to wrecker strap) - Various antennae on belly (destroyed)
